History
ECS was founded on 09.09.1991 as General Representative of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) for the Republic of Macedonia, and had worked on its behalf.
Representing a company such as Digital from the very beginning implied modern, high-level professional organization and implementation of the highest standards in our work, with special emphases on the employees’ education, in order to bring closer to the Macedonian market the latest achievements in the sphere of IT. This cooperation guided ECS towards large and complex projects where the knowledge and experience of its engineering team was of utter importance. As a result of this orientation, ECS’s portfolio comprises solutions based on products of some of the biggest computer companies and system-integrator houses with whom ECS has long-term partnership relations.
One of ECS’s first large scale projects was in the field of communications – the development and implementation of the first IP network in the Republic of Macedonia, at the Sts Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, in 1993, when the main building of the University was connected with the faculties. This practically announced the further orientation of ECS towards projects related to all types of communication. Nowadays, ECS is actively involved in projects related to wireless and satellite communications, which place ECS among the fewer.
During the 16 years of its successful presence on the domestic and recently on the foreign market
as well, ECS has taken part in a number of system integration projects for complex information systems, realized for telecommunication companies, government institutions, public and private enterprises etc.
One of the big successes in this area was a contract signed at the beginning of 2005 for realization of a project for telecommunication equipment and communication infrastructure for the Ministry of Interior, including the borders interconnection.
One of the large scale project is the Supplies Against Money Laundering (January 2006), where ECS
has acted as a system integrator of several different HW, communication and SW vendors, covering the complete needs
of the Directorate for Money Laundering Prevention, including database management, analysis and investigation tools, document management, security, communication, data exchange with banks and external agencies etc.
